Description
Amazing build on this one of a kind of two of a kind car. What's a Mach Z? A car that's the best between both worlds of a Ford Mach 1 and a Chevy Camaro. VEHICLE STORY OVERVIEW.. This modified 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a rotisserie restoration that harnesses power from a Camaro-sourced supercharged 385ci Chevrolet LT4 small-block V8 backed by a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission. Retrofitted to incorporate engineering and suspension architecture from a fourth-generation Chevrolet Camaro. This customized Mach 1 is equipped with functioning anti-lock brakes, a set of 17-inch chrome wheels, a two-tone interior with a center console and full gauges. Among other upgrades, the car has been outfitted with a Comp roller cam, AFR Eliminator heads, and a positraction rear end. The exterior bears a âMach Zâ decal, front and rear spoilers. Finished in Monte Carlo Yellow over a black vinyl interior. This first-generation Mustang is now offered with a restoration journal, service manuals, wiring diagrams specific to this build, engine tuning cables, an uninstalled spare powertrain control module with the current tune programmed on it as a backup. All bases covered on this beast. A clear title. EXTERIOR â FEATURES.. Rotisserie restoration in 2011 that included the replacement of the floors, rear quarters, and inner wheel wheels as well as other repairs. The rust-free exterior received fresh GM-sourced Monte Carlo Yellow paint along with a gloss black hood, painted and clearcoated stripes and Mach Z side decals. Features include a chin spoiler, color-keyed mirror caps, a rear spoiler, and chrome brightwork. The outlets for the custom 2.5-inch Flowmaster dual-exhaust setup exit beneath the rear bumper. EXTERIOR â WHEELS AND TIRES.. The chrome Chevrolet-sourced 17 x 9.5 front wheels are wrapped in 275/40 tires; the matching 17 x 11 rear wheels are surrounded by 315/35 tires. INTERIOR â FEATURES.. The 2+2 interior is fitted with black vinyl high-back bucket seats up front and dual fold-down sport seats in the rear, all of which are accented by yellow accent piping and embroidery. The surrounding all-black cockpit is furnished with a custom center console, carpeted floor mats, an aftermarket steering wheel, and a padded dash. INTERIOR â GAUGES.. Instrumentation was sourced from a Chevrolet Camaro donor car and consists of a 150-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, and supplementary gauges for the voltage, oil pressure, fuel level, and coolant temperature, all of which operate as designed. In addition, aftermarket AEM gauges have been added to convey boost and air/fuel ratio information. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 64K miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown. ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION.. The Camaro-sourced supercharged 385ci LT4 V8 was engineered to fit this application through custom underbody mounting of the General Motors F-body K-member, which was bolted to the Mustangâs frame and can be removed from the bottom. The powerplant has been upgraded with performance equipment as noted in the bullet points below: â¢Billet steel splayed main caps â¢LT1 block â¢ProCharger D-1SC supercharger â¢AFR 195cc Eliminator heads â¢SLP headers â¢Shaft-mounted rockers â¢Comp Cams hydraulic roller cam â¢Scat 4340 crankshaft and H-beam rods â¢JE Pistons reverse-dome blower pistons â¢Canton Racing Products trap-door oil pan â¢65-lb fuel injectors â¢Electric water pump The engine was serviced within the last 500 miles and the ProCharger oil was changed as well. The gearbox's synchros and shift forks have been upgraded. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission with a SPEC stage 3.5 hydraulic clutch and a 0.50:1-ratio sixth gear, a rear end narrowed by 2.5 inches, and an Auburn differential with Positraction and 3.42 gearing.
